Council has a number of banner sites located throughout Ku-ring-gai which are available for the public to hire.  The display of banners is a popular and effective way of advertising community events and other functions.

Who can hire

  • The display of banners are mainly reserved for the use of not for profit organisations or community groups. Banner bookings are free of charge for these groups.  
  • Business can also hire banner sites but fees apply.

Booking terms

  • Bookings can only be made for the upcoming three month period
  • Bookings can be up to a maximum period of 14 days in length or a minimum of 7 days
  • A maximum of 4 bookings can be made each month

  • Banner permits are issued at the discretion of Ku ring gai Council. Council reserves the right to refuse to issue a permit or revoke a permit

Installing the banner

  • It is the banner owner’s responsibility to have the banners erected and taken down as per the scheduled bookings
  • Banners must be removed by 6pm on the final day of the display period, to ensure that other groups are not inconvenienced when they arrive to place their banners
  • The banner must have a rope threaded through the top and bottom of the banner from one end to the other
  • The banner is not to be padlocked to the site
  • If using cable ties to secure a banner, all cable ties must be collected and removed from the site
