Putarri Reserve in St Ives

Ku-ring-gai Council is developing plans for improvements to Putarri Reserve in St Ives, which is classified as a local park within Council’s Open Space System.

Local playgrounds generally cater for residents within walking distance. They are the most common category of playgrounds within the municipality and usually do not include facilities such as toilets as they are intended for shorter stays.

An example of a recently upgraded local park within the municipality is Lapwing Reserve, in Carcoola Road in St Ives.

Community Consultation

Late 2017 residents were invited to complete a user survey to help inform the design of Putarri Reserve. Community response to the survey was fantastic and Council’s Landscape Architects are currently using this feedback to inform the development of the park design as further site investigations continue.

The upgraded park will cater to a wider range of users and include accessibility improvements, new equipment, and planting. A concept plan will be circulated to local residents for comment in early 2018.
