Warrimoo Neighbourhood Centre at St Ives Chase is variously referred to as The Mall Shops, Warrimoo Shops, the Colonial Shopping Centre or St Ives Chase Shopping Centre. It services the daily convenience shopping needs of the local community and its upgrade has been identified as a priority in Ku-ring-gai Council’s Neighbourhood Centres Revitalisation Program.
The proposed upgrade
Consultation with property owners regarding possible improvements to this centre was initiated by Council in 2015. Since that time Council has developed concept designs, established budgets and sought comments from various stakeholders and the broader community to better inform design proposals

The above linked concept plan is indicative of the proposed scope of works which has since been modified to reflect the available project budget as part of the detailed design documentation process.
The proposed upgrade includes:
An accessible link between park and shops – new raised threshold and pathway
An accessible car space to the front carpark – improved access and car park arrangements
Upgraded footpaths along shopfronts – shot-blast/saw-cut concrete surface treatments
Improved image / reduced clutter – new furniture / review clothing bins location
Landscaping – new planting, fencing and walls along park edge to street and shops
Improved park amenity – picnic shelter, bubbler, fencing and better access to create a ’village green’
The works are not expected to significantly affect the normal running of businesses, and the shopping centre will remain open during construction.
Update February 2018
Council has completed the first 2 works packages with the construction of a raised threshold and an accessible link between the park and shops creating a ‘village green’ for local residents. Construction of the balance of works packages has now commenced and will be completed over the coming months.
