Turramurra and Roseville will be the locations for this year’s Spring Flowers Celebration starting on 9 September.
The Spring Flowers Celebration will see Rohini Street, Turramurra and Hill Street, Roseville brightened by mass plantings of spring flowers in temporary planters and hanging baskets for around six weeks.
Ku-ring-gai Art Centre and Ku-ring-gai Council’s Youth Services team will be painting six planters with the theme of ‘Celebration of Spring in Ku-ring-gai’. Business owners are invited to be part of the celebrations by adding their own floral features and publicising the project using the hashtag #kcspringflowers.
The first Ku-ring-gai Spring Flowers celebration took place in Wahroonga between 18 October and 12 December 2019 at the junction of Railway and Redleaf Avenue. The celebration coincided with the 2019 Wahroonga festival and consisted of planter box installations, hanging flower features and intensification of flower planting in existing planter beds.
Public responses to the spring flowers celebration were very positive and Council decided in June 2020 to continue and expand the project, selecting Roseville and Turramurra for the 2020 locations.
