Lindfield Village Green will be an open green space for social and recreational use, located in Council’s Tryon Road car park on the eastern side of Lindfield behind the Lindfield Avenue shops. Most of the existing car spaces will be relocated underground and the new Village Green will be built on top.
Lindfield Village Green will include public open space, underground public car parking, a pavilion for leasing as a café or restaurant with public seating, toilets and a lift. The development will be designed to meet the highest standards of design excellence and sustainability.
The final concept plan for Lindfield Village Green was approved by Council on 23 August. This final concept has evolved from the preferred option selected by Council in June 2015 in response to community, council staff and consultant inputs.
The final plan sees a number of changes to original preferred concept including:
- Reconfigured traffic flow to reduce vehicle pedestrian conflict
- An increased usable open space
- Inclusion of new drop off zones
- Provision for a larger cafe
- additional seating in the park
- relocation of gazebo structures
- reconfiguration of planned parking arrangements

Have your say
We are now working on design development in preparation for a Development Application (DA). This process will be carried out over the next 8 months and will include a comprehensive program of community engagement to ensure that local people are aware and can have a say in the preparation of the final plans.
The process of engagement has now commenced and will continue until November 2016.
Watch this space for updates.
