In 2019, Ku-ring-gai Council will be giving residents the chance to take part in the EPA’s Love Food Hate Waste program. We are aiming to help improve eating habits, save you money and reduce food waste. Click the register button below to begin the challenge now.

How it works

It is free to join the 4-week Food Smart program and you will receive a toolkit with resources like bag clips, food huggers (silicone preservation covers for fruit and veg) and menu planners. You’ll also complete some surveys to show how your habits and food waste have changed.

Free events & prizes

By registering you will be invited to attend a range of events below. You will also go into the draw to win weekly prizes including books and sustainable products as you progress through the program. We will also have a grand prize to be announced.

Just Eat It! Movie Night

The movie provides a humorous yet practical view of mindfully buying, preparing and disposing of food.

Crop Swap Event

Swap your herbs, veggies, fruit and seedlings with others.
