Blackbutt Creek Flood Risk  Management Study and Plan

The Blackbutt Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan was completed in August 2016. This report builds on the findings from the Blackbutt Creek Flood Study (2014) and outlines management measures to mitigate issues at flooding hotspots. Options such as land use planning, community awareness, flood warning and infrastructure changes and upgrades have all be investigated and are considered in the report. The Floodplain risk management plan will help guide future actions for flood management in the Blackbutt Creek catchment area.

Blackbutt Creek Flood Study

The Blackbutt Creek Flood Study is the first of a series of detailed flood studies to be undertaken in Ku-ring-gai. This study used historical information, landscape survey, stormwater pipe data and computer modelling techniques to indicate areas that are likely to be impacted by flooding in extreme events. The study provided baseline information for the development of management options to address the impacts of flooding in the Blackbutt Creek sub-catchment, including land use planning controls, flood mitigation measures, emergency management procedures and drainage system upgrades.  The implementation of these management options will be investigated during the development of the Blackbutt Creek Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan that has recently commenced. The original Flood Study was completed in December 2014.

Lovers Jump Creek Flood Study Review Report

The data review process for the Lovers Jump Flood Risk Management Study and Plan identified the need to update the Flood study and the associated mapping. As such the 2016 study and mapping has been replaced with the information in the Lovers Jump Creek Flood Study Review Report (2018), adopted by Council on 27 November 2018.
