Owners of registered boat trailers that are parked on the street are required to move their trailers every 28 days. This requirement encourages owners to check their boat trailers every 28 days and ensure that they are roadworthy and legally parked.
According to the Impounding Amendment Unattended Boat Trailers Act 2015, trailers are to move at least once every 28 days and must be towed at least as far as a different block section of the same street, passing through an intersection. The boat trailer may then be returned to the original parking position.
Owners of boat trailers are requested to be mindful of where they park their boat trailer, ensuring that it is legally parked, as defined by the Road Rules 2014 and be mindful not to unduly impact neighbours and local traffic.
