Code of Meeting Practice

About the project

Council is required to prepare a new Code of Meeting Practice and would like to hear your feedback before it is adopted by Council.

The Code sets the standards for the conduct of Council Meetings in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005.

The major changes include:

  • A public forum will be held once a month, the community are invited to attend and speak on items that are on the agenda of the next Council meeting.
  • Council meetings will be held once per month with no public address to Council.
  • Council meetings will be webcast.
