Council is seeking public comment on the draft ‘Easement Management Policy 2019’ placed on public exhibition between Friday 6 September 2019 and Friday 4 October 2019.
The draft Policy has been prepared following a review of the current Easement Management Policy, approved by Council on 27 August 2013. If adopted by Council, the draft Policy will supersede the current Policy.
The ‘Easement Management Policy 2019’ sets out the criteria and procedures for creating, modifying or extinguishing easements where Council is an interested party or where a property owner makes a request. This Policy relates to both Council and privately owned land.
Changes from the 2013 Policy include formatting updates, removing references to outdated legislation and clarification of the terms “compensation” and “commercial consideration”.
