Planning proposal - new and extended Heritage Conservation Areas (Wahroonga, Turramurra, Pymble and Gordon)

About the project

Council has now concluded the Planning Proposal process to amend the Ku-ring-gai Local Environmental Plan 2015 and Ku-ring-gai Local Environmental Plan (Local Centres) 2012 to include several new and extended heritage conservation areas in Wahroonga, Turramurra, Pymble and Gordon.

A Planning Proposal is the process that Council follows to make changes to Local Environmental Plans (LEPs). An LEP is a legal document that specifies which land uses are permitted and what development can occur.

Being included on the LEP within a heritage conservation area ensures that any change to properties within the HCA respects and retains the heritage values which are significant. This planning proposal will help protect Ku-ring-gai's historic buildings and streetscapes for future generations to enjoy.
