E-waste / TVs and computer recycling

Recycle your technology at Ku-ring-gai's e-waste event

Dispose of your unwanted computers and TV’s in an environmentally friendly way at St Ives Showground, 450 Mona Vale Road, St Ives on 10 and 11 August 2019 between 9am and 4pm.

Items accepted at this event

  • Computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and other computer-related devices.

  • Electronic tablets.

  • TVs, DVD & video players, DVDs, VHS tapes.

  • HiFi equipment & CDs.

  • Gaming consoles.

  • Small electrical kitchen appliances.

  • Cameras.

  • Faxes and projectors.

  • Photocopiers.

Items not accepted at this event

  • Whitegoods.

  • Oil filled heaters and other liquid filled items.

  • Loose batteries.

  • Lightglobes and tubes.

  • Air conditioners.

  • Toner and printer cartridges (can be recycled at Gordon library).

  • Smoke alarms / detectors.

  • Other hazardous waste - including but not limited to glass elements and liquids.

  • Mobile phones (can be recycled at all Ku-ring-gai libraries).

  • General solid waste not considered e-waste.

Regular drop-off locations computers and televisions

No need to wait for an e-waste collection. Recycle up to 15 items for free through the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme at listed nearby locations.

Any household or small business can drop off their items in a car, ute or trailer in the designated television and computer recycling areas. Customers must unload their own waste.

  • Computer monitors.
  • Personal and portable computers.
  • Printers, scanners, peripherals and parts.
  • Cords and cables.

Items not accepted

Try using the recycling near you website to find a recycler for electronic items not included in the program or alternatively book a cleanup. Unfortunately these items are sent to landfill.
