Printmaking and collage

The Art Centre offers classes for all levels of experience and ability. Our classes are held in light, airy studios providing a stimulating atmosphere in which to work. Printmaking - traditional to experimental

This course is suitable for all levels from beginners through to the more experienced printmakers. Explore a variety of printing techniques like solarplate, etching, drypoint, lino, woodcut, collagraph and monotypes being offered. Creative freedom is encouraged with each student being able to find their own creative voice and work at their own level to pursue a body of work. Safer printmaking practices are used.

Considering collage: develop creative processes

When: Monday
Time: 9am - 12pm
Fee: $260 per nine-week term

Expand your creative potential in this course that is all about ideas. Examine collage works by well-known Modernist and contemporary artists. Experiment using their techniques as a guide while developing your own style. Stimulate your creativity, compile resources and ideas for future work, and experiment with materials and concepts in friendly and supportive surroundings. You will finish the term with a journal full of ideas, notes and experimentation, and a series of textile/paint/collected item collages. You can use the collages you make as finished works in themselves, or as studies for subsequent paintings, prints or textile pieces.
