With the introduction of our online booking system, it's now even easier to book a class or workshop at Ku-ring-gai Art Centre.

No nuts or nut products please!

Please ensure food brought to the Centre does not contain nuts or nut products.

Does your child have allergies, asthma, other health issues or special needs? We must be notified in advance if the attendee has an Epi-pen or medication. You must also send us an Action Plan prior to attending class. If your child turns up without an Epi Pen or with out of date medication, they cannot attend the class.

Don't forget to bring a hat, a snack and a smock!

Pottery ‘Monster Mugs’

Children love clay! They love playing and making with this tactile medium. The pottery studio offers a fun introduction to basic hand building techniques and learning about clay.

Each child will design and create a fabulous mug to use at home. Younger children will learn how to use moulds and easier techniques, older children and those with some experience will be able to extend their skills.
When enrolling, please specify which half day classes you want your child to attend.

In this fun one-day workshop you will learn how to prepare the clay, throw, shape and finish a small vessel on the wheel. By the end of the workshop you will have practiced new skills in wheel throwing pottery, finishing, decorating and recycling of clay. 
Please wear closed shoes and clothes you are relaxed about getting clay on, and bring a towel. It is also recommended you trim your nails.

Jazz and Blues Guitar for the Intermediate Guitarist

This is a fun, one day introduction to Jazz and Blues for intermediate guitarists, run by composer/performer and Sydney Con Jazz graduate Kieren Brereton.
Students must be able to play basic open chord shapes (C, G, F etc.) and major/minor barre chord shapes, have knowledge of either the major/minor or pentatonic scale in one position on the neck, and be comfortable playing single notes with a pick.

1. Chords and chord progressions
2. Basic improvising using motivic development
3. Technique
4. Practise methodology
