Bush Birthday Parties

Bush-Birthday-Parties.jpg

Our Bush Birthday Parties offer a range of unique outdoor activities that encourage children to explore their natural environment in a fun and positive way. All activities are nature-themed to suit the interest of your child and incorporate hands-on activities like bug hunting, bush walking, plant propagation, fauna encounters, dipnetting and organic bush crafts.

You will have your own ranger to entertain the children and the grown-ups too!  Parents are welcome to bring food to serve after the activities.

A great alternative to the traditional indoor party experience!

Bush Detectives

“I like to hide; but if you look carefully you will see the tracks and traces I leave behind…”  Join the Ranger to look for clues about the fascinating animals living in the bush, and meet some of our fauna friends.

Bush Fairies and Dragons

The bush is alive with tiny, fairy-like creatures. Who are they? Discover how these little animals help keep the Wildflower Garden’s plants and animals happy and healthy.

Dinosaur Ancestors – Surviving Extinction

Living fossils! Some of the plants, birds, reptiles and insects found in the Garden today evolved from their giant prehistoric ancestors. Investigate who lived with dinosaurs and how they survived the mass-extinction.

Little Green Fingers

Let’s get grubby! Uncover the wonderful world of plants, learn what they need to grow, and venture into the bush to explore our native flora. Each child will plant their own seed in a pot to take home.

Minibeast Madness

Shrink down to the marvellous world of minibeasts! Rangers will bring one of their six-legged friends to meet your party and then lead your group into the bush for a big bug hunt.

Themes for younger kids (2-5 years)

Bush Buddies

Come and meet some friendly creatures as we get to know some of the Wildflower Garden's local inhabitants. We'll find out where they live and what they eat for lunch!

Bush Senses

Bring your eyes and ears and mouth and nose to explore the bush will all of our senses! We'll be touching, smelling, looking and listening on our nature adventure.

Themes for older kids (6-12 years)

Bush Survival

What would you do if you and your friends were lost out in the bush? Learn essential survival skills such as compass-work, navigating across country, identifying bush foods, and building an emergency shelter.

Nature Studio

Bring out your creative side with arts and crafts inspired by nature. We'll make a big bush sculpture together, learn the finer skills of botanical drawing or nature sketching, and create a beautiful craft work to take home.

Spotlight Prowl

When the sun sets the bush transforms into a private place of shadows and mystery. Join the ranger for a night time adventure, creeping through the gardens and discover the truth about the happenings of the bush after dark.

Hosted Campfire

Our ranger will teach children how to lay and light a campfire, set fire safety rules, then supervise the campfire while you bring your own marshmallows or damper to cook or just enjoy the atmosphere! Available between May and September only. All participants must wear closed sturdy shoes and long trousers.
