Belonging, being and becoming
Learning through play, children will enjoy a hands-on experience engaging with nature.
Our experienced Interpretation Rangers have developed a variety of active learning activities especially designed for pre-school children aged 3 to 5 years. Our goal is for children to have fun in the bush and leave with a sense of connectedness and appreciation.
Programs are tailored to compliment in-class learning and can be structured for a 1 to 3 hour excursion. We also have an easy walk option suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
Picnic areas and barbecues are available; you are invited to arrive early for morning tea or stay after your activity for lunch.
Choose from one of the following excursion themes:
Come and explore the Wildflower Garden’s urban bushland environment and meet some surprising animals! We will search for animal homes; find out what they eat and what they need to survive.
You might be surprised how much we have in common!
Preparing for School - My First Excursion
Our rangers make preparing for school days fun! Pack your lunch and ride the bus together to your first excursion in the Wildflower Garden. Before we embark on our adventure the ranger will set a few simple rules, then it’s into the bush for a fun exploration session. After morning tea we’ll sit together as a class and meet some amazing animals!
(Popular with preschools in November and December – book early).
The Wildflower Garden is best explored when we’re using all five of our senses. The rangers will lead the children through a series of sensory games and activities that will help them to investigate and have fun in the natural environment.
Our Senses Track is purpose built for easy stroller access.
