Families flocked to St Ives Village Green to make the most of the perfect weather at this year’s Festival on the Green.
The Dinosaur theme was a hit with young and old, as dinosaurs roamed the grounds, tiny dinosaurs gave rides to enthusiastic youngsters, and giant dinosaur statues stood watch over the grounds.
The event’s stage was a constant source of entertainment with performances from local dance groups, choirs, and bands, as well as headline shows by ABC TV’s Dinosaur Train. Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo wowed the crowd with two amazing experiences that allowed people to get up close and personal with prehistoric giants.
The event was a budget-friendly affair, with free activities including face painting, Savills’ Fossil Digging, mini train rides, and a futuristic 9D cinema.
Patrons sampled delights from across the globe with over 20 food stalls to choose from. The alleyway of market stalls also proved popular, as local artisans set up shop alongside community groups, children’s activities, and health and fitness booths.
Ku-ring-gai Council wishes to extend a dinosaur-sized thank you to all of the event’s volunteers, including representatives from the SES, St John Ambulance, and the Ku-ring-gai Local Area command Police.
Thank you to our 2017 event sponsors
