Festival on the Green at St Ives came alive with caped crusaders and other super heroes on Sunday 6 May
Thousands of Superheros took over at St Ives Village Green for Ku-ring-gai’s premier family event. Families flocked to the Green this weekend to make the most of the perfect weather at this year’s Festival on the Green.
Spiderman, Batman and Superman along with Wonder women roamed the park fighting crime and protecting the public throughout the day.
The event’s stage was a constant source of entertainment with performances from local dance groups, choirs, and bands, as well as the headline act Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which wowed the crowd.
The event was a budget-friendly affair, with free activities including Superhero Craft workshop, animal farm, and fun temporary Superhero tattoos. Patrons sampled delights from across the globe with over 20 food stalls to choose from. The alleyway of market stalls also proved popular, as local artisans set up shop alongside community groups, children’s activities, and health and fitness booths.
Ku-ring-gai Council wishes to thank you to all of the event’s volunteers, including representatives from the SES, St John Ambulance, and the Ku-ring-gai Local Area command Police.
Festival on the Green was proudly presented and coordinated by Ku-ring-gai Council, but couldn't have happened without our sponsors
Festival on the Green is Council's signature event which is held on the first Sunday in May each year.
Launched in 2004, the festival aims to provide local schools, community groups, organisations and businesses with a platform to showcase what they have to offer to the Ku-ring-gai community.
The event has built a reputation for providing a great range of free entertainment, rides and activities for all ages.
