Important changes to Council meetings
From July 2019 there will be a number of key changes to how Ku-ring-gai Council will be conducting Council meetings. These changes are required by NSW Government and outlined in detail in Council's new Code of Meeting Practice (to be published shortly), which was adopted by Council in June 2019.
Key changes include:
- Council meetings will be held every month, rather than the previous fortnightly schedule
- The public will still be invited to attend but there will be no public address at Council meetings.
- Instead, Council will introduce monthly public forums, where the public are invited to attend and speak on general items or items that are on the agenda at the next Council meeting.
- To improve accessibility and transparency, Council meetings will be streamed online.
