Ku-ring-gai Council’s low-cost fitness program for residents starts its autumn term in late April.
The autumn program of Active Ku-ring-gai activities starts on 24 April and bookings can be made online at www.kmc.nsw.gov.au/activekuringgai
Activities range from tai chi, Pilates, social tennis, walking groups and yoga. junior golf clinics are also available at Gordon and North Turramurra courses, as well the ever popular ‘gym without walls’ outdoor group training classes at various parks across Ku-ring-gai.
Classes in the autumn program run for 10 weeks and cost just $11 a week, with walking groups free of charge.
For the first time Active Ku-ring-gai will offer yoga for men during winter, which has been specially designed for men by men. Men’s yoga classes will be offered at Turramurra Hall 1 Gilroy Street Turramurra.
Mayor Jennifer Anderson said Active Ku-ring-gai was aimed at all residents, regardless of their age or level of fitness.
“The objective is to help our community stay fit and active all year round without needing to spend a lot of money to do it.”
“Since Active Ku-ring-gai started in 2006 over 3000 people have taken classes and improved their health as a result.”
