Sky News anchor and host of Paul Murray LIVE on Foxtel Paul Murray will be Ku-ring-gai’s Australia Day Ambassador at local celebrations in Bicentennial Park.
Mr Murray will be speaking at Ku-ring-gai Council’s Australia Day citizenship ceremony at West Pymble’s Bicentennial Park on Friday 26 January from 9am.
Afterwards he will mingle with new Australian citizens and their families, as well as local residents attending Australia Day celebrations.
Mayor Jennifer Anderson and Ku-ring-gai Councillors will also welcome new Australians making their pledge as citizens and announce the winners of the Ku-ring-gai Australia Day Awards.
Following the citizenship ceremony, the celebrations get underway at 10.30am until 2pm on the day.
Families will enjoy a range of entertainment and activities, including a live stage show featuring the Wild Aussies Kids Show, bush band Handpicked, an Aussie reptile show and a range of cultural dance performances. For the children, there are games and amusement rides, sheep shearing, sheep dog demonstrations and roaming performers.
After the event ends at 2pm, the public are invited to the Ku-ring-gai Fitness and Aquatic Centre next to Bicentennial Park for an afternoon of pool entertainment and activities.
Council recommends catching the free shuttle bus from Gordon train station to the event as parking is limited.
