Residents aged 55+ are invited to this free expo-style event showcasing services, activities and entertainment for older people in Ku-ring-gai.
Everything for Seniors Day will be on Tuesday 19 February between 10am and 3pm at St Ives Village Green and the Community Hall.
The free community event will give older residents and their families an overview of local activities and services specifically for older residents.
Nearly 50 community organisations, clubs and groups will be there to offer information, advice and ‘come-and-try’ activities such as chair yoga and dancing. There will be stalls where you can chat to home support staff and talks by professionals about other health-related services.
Petrea King from Quest for Life will be presenting, as will other health specialists on different aspects of healthy ageing. A talk on home support services will be translated into Mandarin by Ivan Wong from the Chinese Australian Services Society.
Entertainment will be provided by the Eco-pella choir, Bollywood singers and Chinese performers. A delicious buffet style lunch catered by the House of Welcome is available for a small fee. Low-cost coffee tea and pastries will also be served under cover at the Village Green.
All the activities at Everything for Seniors Day are free and residents can travel to and from the event on a free shuttle bus from North Turramurra Golf Club to St Ives Village Green, with buses running every 30 minutes between 9.30am and 3.30pm on the day.
