Residents are invited to give feedback on a long-term plan for Council priorities.
Ku-ring-gai’s current Community Strategic Plan was developed in 2013. Following the election of the new Council in September, residents are being asked whether the Plan still represents the longer term goals of the community.
The Plan is based upon six key themes; Community, People and Culture; Natural Environment; Places, Spaces and Infrastructure; Access, Traffic and Transport; Local Economy and Employment; Leadership and Governance.
Ku-ring-gai’s Community Strategic Plan provides the foundation for the Council to develop what is known as the Delivery Program. The Delivery Program sets priorities for the Council to deliver infrastructure, services and programs across Ku-ring-gai.
“We need to make sure Ku-ring-gai’s long term planning reflects any new circumstances and responds to the community’s needs,” Mayor Jennifer Anderson said.
“Discussion sessions are already being held with residents and the Council has set up a ‘Have Your Say’ web page for the public to give feedback.”
The Have Your Say page allows residents to join live discussions with others, ask Council staff questions and provides an online comment form.
Residents can also mail in their feedback to Community Strategic Plan, Ku-ring-gai Council, Locked Bag 1006 Gordon NSW 2072 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Consultation will continue until early 2018, with the Council to adopt a final version of the Community Strategic Plan by June 2018.
