Community groups and organisations are invited to apply for grants to help the Ku-ring-gai community.
It’s the second round of grant funding the Council has offered community groups and organisations this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June $80,000 in funding assistance was dispensed by the Council for a range of COVID-19 support services.
This round of community grants is aimed at purchases of much-needed equipment, providing support services or arts and cultural activities. Applications are open until 2 August 2020.
Community groups can apply for grants under the following three categories: equipment, community development programs and arts & cultural programs.
Previous successful applicants include multicultural resources in preschools to explore cultural diversity, camping equipment for scouts and guides, IT equipment for volunteer training programs, a community garden for intellectually disabled young adults, cooking classes for carers and music therapy for older adults.
“Community groups do such great work, often on a shoestring budget,” said Mayor Jennifer Anderson.
“This year more than ever our community needs the services and facilities they provide.”
