Community groups are invited to apply for grants of up to $5000 by 3 July.
Ku-ring-gai Council is offering community groups the chance to get their projects off the ground, purchase much-needed equipment or fund arts and cultural activities through the Ku-ring-gai Community Grants program. Applications are now open and must be submitted by 5pm Monday 3 July.
Community groups can apply for grants of up to $5000 under the following three categories: small equipment, community development programs and arts & cultural programs.
“Community groups do such great work, often on a shoestring budget,” said Mayor Jennifer Anderson.
“These grants allow them to purchase much-needed equipment they otherwise couldn't afford and the opportunity to get projects off the ground.”
Mayor Anderson said the Council was offering a free grant information workshop to help applicants. The workshop will be held at Council Chambers at 818 Pacific Highway Gordon on Friday 9 June between 10am to 12pm. To register to attend the workshop call 9424 0896 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Previous successful applications for community grants include cooking classes for widowers, materials for a new arts program, teaching aids to assist with English language classes and Aboriginal cultural awareness projects for children.
