New playground opens at Bicentennial Park West Pymble

The Golden Grove playground has been upgraded with a variety of new play equipment.

The Golden Grove playground is located at Lofberg Road West Pymble, within one of Ku-ring-gai’s biggest parks.

New equipment includes a climbing net, carousel, slides, swings, natural play areas including water-based elements. The playground also has new fencing, with self-closing gates and seating.

Mayor Jennifer Anderson said the upgrade to Golden Grove playground was the latest in a list of upgrades planned for the coming year.

“The Council has identified a priority list of playgrounds that need updating, based on population distribution and our policy of making Ku-ring-gai’s playgrounds enjoyable for children of all ages and abilities”.

According to the Mayor, Putarri Reserve at St Ives will be due for an upgrade next after community consultation is completed.

Bicentennial Park is also undergoing a facelift, with work underway to replace the existing pedestrian bridges connecting Lofberg Oval with the Golden Grove playground and upgrades to the amenities block.

Temporary toilets are replacing the amenities block until the end of May, when the work is expected to be complete.
