Ku-ring-gai Council are teaming up with history experts to offer free school incursions to explore medieval history.
In the lead up to this year’s St Ives Medieval Faire, Ku-ring-gai Council are teaming up with Knight For Hire and Hands on History to bring the excitement of medieval history to life in local schools.
Trained and accredited educators will visit schools to immerse students in living history that transports them back hundreds of years to medieval Europe.
Students will take lead roles that explore stories of everyday life in medieval Europe with replica swords, armour, costumes, and household goods.
Incursions are available in areas around Ku-ring-gai on the following dates:
- Wednesday 13 September – Central Coast
- Thursday 14 September – North West Sydney
- Friday 15 September – Lower North Shore
- Monday 18 September – Northern Beaches
- Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 September - Upper North Shore
In addition to these school incursions, a special program will be run at Gordon Library for primary school-aged children. Gordon Library goes Medieval will feature all the educational fun of the school-based programs.
Bookings for the Gordon Library event can be made at kmc.nsw.gov.au/ggmedieval
