On Monday 9 September Ku-ring-gai Council will host a Parent Forum on how everyone in the family can get through this stressful time unscathed.
The Forum in September is being presented as part of the Council’s ‘Takes a Village’ series of talks about managing the issues facing teens and young adults.
The Forum will be from 6pm to 8pm at the Council Chambers 818 Pacific Highway in Gordon. Lucy Dahill from the Why Be You organisation will be guest speaker, along with a panel to take questions from the audience.
Lucy will discuss some strategies that can put in place to support young people during the HSC and can be used far beyond Year 12.
Why Be You works with young people, parents, schools and youth groups to promote a supportive whole-of-community approach to some of the more challenging aspects of growing up.
Why Be You offers a back-to-basics approach to parenting, with workshops and presentations on raising children and teens to introduce improved communication with one another.
The Parent Forum on 9 September will focus on coping mechanisms to ensure everyone in the family can handle the stress of exam time during the HSC.
