Mayor's Message - 19 March 2020

I write my column this week in the shadows of the current coronavirus situation, a health issue which Australians have not faced for many decades.

Coronavirus is affecting every aspect of our daily lives. As a result, the Council’s first priority at this time is the safety of our community and our staff.

To that end, we are implementing some changes in the way we do business.

A full list of these changes can be found on the home page of our website

The changes affect our libraries, Council meetings and other services and events provided to the public. Essential services such as waste collection, road maintenance and street cleaning will continue as normal, as much as is possible.

Our website also provides links to the state and federal health authorities which are leading the response to the Coronavirus pandemic. These sites are regularly updated and provide the most accurate information on the situation.

I am pleased to say work is about to start on the Lindfield Village Green at the Tryon Road car park. This exciting project will transform the car park into a green community space with outdoor dining and car parking located underground.

From 28 April, the Tryon Road car park will close to allow construction to commence. However there will be a range of parking options provided in the area. Please visit our website for full details.
