Have your say about a growing Ku-ring-gai

The Greater Sydney Commission has been tasked by the NSW Government with planning Sydney’s growth for the next twenty years. All metropolitan councils are required to develop a Local Strategic Planning Statement to manage and plan land use for population growth to 2036.

During July we are holding information sessions at St Ives, Lindfield, Gordon and Turramurra libraries to discuss the draft Local Strategic Planning Statement with residents.

The draft LSPS is on exhibition until 12 August 2019 for public comment.

Greater Sydney Commission releases The Pulse of Sydney

Following adoption by the NSW State Government of The Greater Sydney Region Plan and five district plans, including the North District Plan which incorporates Ku-ring-gai, the Greater Sydney Commission this week released ‘The Pulse of Sydney’ to monitor and report on the implementation of the Plans, to measure progress and to help understand how Greater Sydney grows and changes.

Council meeting changes

As you may be aware, Council meetings are changing to a monthly format, with a new Public Forum also introduced on a monthly basis so members of the public can directly address Councillors ahead of important decisions on Council business, as well as other matters in the public interest.

In addition, Council meetings will now be live streamed on the Council website from 7pm, which is when the meetings commence.

This is in line with the NSW Government's policy on making Council meetings more accessible.

You can view the meetings anywhere through your PC or smart device by visiting Council's website.

Web streaming will be helpful to those residents who are unable to attend Council meetings in person.
