Mayor's message - 24 September 2019

Posted at 11:37AM on 22 November 2019

Thank you to my Councillor colleagues who have entrusted me with the role of Mayor for a further 12 months. I also congratulate my colleague Cr Callum Clarke who has been elected to the position of Deputy Mayor.

Cr Clarke and I will serve until the next Council elections which are due to be held in September 2020.

Now we are 20 years into the 21st century, Sydney is undergoing a transformation due to population growth.

As required by the NSW Government, over the next twelve months Council will be talking to residents about what their future housing, transport and employment needs are leading up to the year 2036. Our Council wants to help residents stay in the local area, raise their families and grow old near to loved ones and familiar surroundings.

How we do this will require your input and feedback.

The St Ives Medieval Faire was again a great spectacle this weekend and it was great to see so many families out at the Showground enjoying the sights and activities that the Faire always brings.

Thank you to everyone who came and especially the organisers – I had a wonderful time!

Our next community event is the free Twilight Concert at Wahroonga Park from 5pm on Saturday 19 October.

This year we are combining two great musical loves of the 1980s – Abba and Countdown.

It promises to be a very popular night so arrive early to get the best spot.
