New vacation care service opens at St Ives

Ku-ring-gai Council is partnering with Corpus Christi Primary School to offer a new vacation care service in St Ives.

The new service will open in time for the July school holidays and will take bookings through the Council. There are up to 60 places available between 7am and 6pm on weekdays Monday to Friday.

Based at the Corpus Christi school grounds at 17 Link Road St Ives, the service will open for bookings for the winter school holidays from 7.30am on Monday 5 June. The school holidays are between Monday 3 July and Friday 17 July.

The Council’s former service at St Ives Park Primary will no longer operate but according to Mayor Jennifer Anderson, the new service at Corpus Christi Primary is offering an expanded number of places for vacation care.

“St Ives is one of our growth suburbs for young families so we have expanded the service to reflect the growing demand,” she said.

The Mayor said the Council would be recruiting extra staff in coming weeks in readiness for the winter school holiday vacation care program.

Enquiries about the new service can be made by calling the Council’s children’s services team on 9424 0903. For more information about Ku-ring-gai Council’s childcare services visit www.kmc.nsw.gov.au/childcare.
