About the 2011 Concerts
Jazz - Now & Then - Saturday 24 September 2011, 5pm - 8pm
Unfortunately the first concert of 2011 was cancelled part way through due to dangerous weather and safety concerns. The hardy residents who attended the event enjoyed the Buble & the Legends of Swing show before heavy rain, thunder and lightening forced the cancellation of the event.
It's a shame the event was cancelled, but never fear.... The Rat Pack will be back to perform in 2012.
Classic Hits - Saturday 29 October 2011, 5pm - 8pm
Perfect weather attracted over 4,000 people to Ku-ring-gai Council's Classic Hits Twilight Concert at Wahroonga Park. Endless Summer Beach Party brought alive the sun-and-surf-loving sound of the 1960s and got the party started with retro hits from the '70s and '80s.The four superstar singers from headline act Boys in the Band, backed by
The High Rollers Band, had the audience dancing to their favourite hits from The Jersey Boys, The Beatles, The Jackson Five and The Bee Gees. Teenagers couldn't get enough of the '90s hits made famous by Human Nature, *NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys, while children enjoyed face painting and balloons provided by Keith Soames, with all proceeds going to the Children's Hospital in Westmead.
Audiences picnicked under the stars and enjoyed the variety of food and drink stalls including coffee, pies, Asian noodles and dumplings, and the Wahroonga Rotary sausage sizzle. The ice cream and sno cones were definitely a hit in the heat.
