Water for Life
In an effort to raise awareness of Council's water saving initiatives throughout the Ku-ring-gai community, we have launched the Water for Life campaign thanks to funding from the NSW Government Office for Water.
The ultimate aim of the program is to lead by example and encourage residents to save water in the home.
The current campaign will centre on promoting Ku-ring-gai's stormwater harvesting projects.
Funding is provided by the Environmental Levy and other government grants which has enabled Ku-ring-gai Council to construct harvesting schemes to capture and re-use stormwater at Comenarra Oval, Edenborough Oval, Cliff Oval, Barra Brui Oval, Lofberg Oval, Lindfield Oval No. 2 and Auluba Oval No.3.
The funding is also used to promote these initiatives through a variety of channels including newspapers, rates notices, shopping centres and community events.
With more on the way, including Roseville Chase Oval and Allan Small Oval (2011), Ku-ring-gai Council is actively doing their bit to save our precious drinking water by providing up to 20 million Litres of water for irrigation each year. More information
