Energy and Water Efficiency
Water for Life
In an effort to raise awareness of Council's water saving initiatives throughout the Ku-ring-gai community, we have launched the Water for Life campaign thanks to funding from the NSW Government.
The ultimate aim of the program is to lead by example and encourage residents to save water in the home.
The funding will be used to promote Councils initiatives through a variety of channels including newspapers, rates notices, shopping centres and community events.
The campaign will centre on three main projects:
- stormwater harvesting projects in Ku-ring-gai, securing water availability for irrigation of our sports fields;
- sewer mining at Gordon Golf Course, estimated to reduce potable (drinking) water consumption by 95%
- enhancing water efficiency of our parks and ovals through the use of native plantings and mulching
