Location


The Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden, located at 420 Mona Vale Road, St Ives, covers 123 hectares of urban bushland on the northern edge of Sydney's North Shore.

Opening Hours


The Wildflower Garden is open every day from 8am to 5pm (6pm during summer) except Christmas Day and Good Friday. 


Entry Fees


Entry to the Wildflower Garden is free unless you arrive in a coach or minibus or as part of a group utilising the Education Centre, where charges still apply.

Physical Features


Located between the suburbs and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, the Wildflower Garden features:

  • heath land
  • tall forest
  • sandstone outcrops
  • ponds, gullies and waterfalls

Walking Tracks


Managed by Ku-ring-gai Council, the Garden offers a range of walking tracks, from the wheelchair and stroller-friendly Senses Track to the more challenging Mueller Track.

Please note: The Mueller Track is currently closed due to storm damage.

Programs at the Bushland Education Centre


The Garden also incorporates the Bushland Education Centre, providing a range of environmental education programs for the community, such as Bush Birthday Parties, programs for playgroups and school groups  and school holiday activities.

Programs can also be arranged for seniors, ESL and CALD groups.

The North Shore Group of the Australian Plant Society holds a Walks and Talks program at the Wildflower Garden on Mondays.

Regional Fox Baiting Program


The Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden will undertake continuous fox baiting.

The Wildflower Garden is a wildlife protection area where dogs and cats are permanently banned.
